Screen Star TERRY MOORE returns this June for the REPS Old Time Radio Convention.

Terry Moore debuted on screen at age 11 in 1940 and went on to play adolescent roles in a number of films. Moore worked in radio in the 1940s, most memorably as Bumps Smith on The Smiths of Hollywood and as Butch’s girlfriend on Mayor of the Town. Other notable radio appearances included A Date With Judy, Dr. Christian, The Adventures of Red Ryder ( where she played opposite Tommy Cook who played the part of Little Beaver).

As an adult actress her films included Mighty Joe Young (1949), Come Back, Little Sheba (1952) – for which she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress and Peyton Place (1957).

Leslie is a star of stage and daytime television serial dramas. For three years she was a regular on The Guiding Light and also appeared regularly on As The World Turns. It was while she was working on As The World Turns that she met her future husband, Don Hastings. The couple are still married today. In this episode, Leslie talks about her career and her reflections on performing for the first time at the REPS Showcase in 2012. Leslie is excited to return for Showcase 2013.

Don Hastings – star of the long running series As The World Turns – started in radio and will be appearing at this June at the
REPS Old Time Radio Convention.

Hastings has been active in show business since 1940 and active on television since 1947. Hastings played Captain Video’s teen-aged companion, the Video Ranger, on the DuMont television series Captain Video and His Video Rangers, from 1949 to 1955. Don’s older brother Bob was singing on the radio regularly in 1940, when Don accompanied him to the studio, came to the attention of producers, and wound up singing and acting on a variety of radio programs.

The Mickey Mouse Theater of the Air from 01/09/38 Episode (02) Snow White.

The Mickey Mouse Theater of the Air was a musical-variety radio series for children, sponsored by Pepsodent and heard on NBC. Broadcast from the Disney Little Theater on the RKO lot from January 2 to May 15, 1938, the program was created to promote the February 1938 release of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Walt Disney did the voice of Mickey Mouse for the first four episodes. Other Disney characters featured on the program were Donald Duck (Clarence Nash), Minnie Mouse (Thelma Boardman), Goofy (Stuart Buchanan) and Clara Cluck (Florence Gill).

And finally a show that was brought to our attention by Jim Taylor. It stars Ralph Bell, with Fred Foy announcing.

This interview features calls from listeners one of whom is June Foray the voice of Natasha and Rocky on the Bullwinkle show.

Stan is an American author, recording artist, animation voice actor, comedian, radio personality, puppeteer and advertising creative director, whose career began in 1944. He is still active in the industry in his mid-80s, nearly 70 years after entering it.

Stan Freberg was the last comedian to have his own regular weekly network radio show – The Stan Freberg Show.

The show was sustained by CBS. It went on the air from Hollywood

in July 1957 but for just 15 short weeks. During that time some of the best humor and biting satire ever heard on radio was featured. The show featured routines which became classic and many were released on records by Capitol.

It’s not a surprise that he later extended his talents to the world of advertising, with actual commercials for both radio and T.V.

Freberg will also always be known as the man who actually pioneered the now-booming field of comedy recording. For it was the tremendous success of such Frebergian funnies as St. George and the Dragonet, The Yellow Rose of Texas, and the controversial Yuletide classic Green Chri$tma$ that launched the genre.
